”By making shapes that feel good in my body, which may not look like picture perfect yoga asana according to social media is something I have been exploring. By letting go of expectation and what I think the shapes should look like, instead I explore really feeling into my body and using that as my compass for movement.”

Amy truly believes that everyone’s Yoga is different because we as individuals are all different.
Everybody comes into the yoga shapes and forms differently as we all have different, unique bodies.

All are welcome.

Amy has been teaching since 2019. She undertook her 200 hour training with Gertrude Street Yoga Studio in early 2019, the study of yoga has sparked a passion to continue on the yoga journey. Amy continued with study in early 2020 with Yoga for Humankind’s Trauma informed and community training and is currently undertaking her advanced training with Creature Yoga.

Amy completed her 300 hour TCTSY training with a focus on Birth Trauma as her final project in 2021/2022.

Her keen interest in yoga started when she was working as a Mental Health nurse in Melbourne in her early twenties, a regular practice of yoga meant she created balance in her life to help with the career stressors.

Amy’s passion for yoga and community came together when she created the community class program at Soul Space in which raises funds and awareness for grassroots organisations and local charities and bringing the bigger conversations onto the mat. Amy believes yoga is a subtle practice of activism.
Amy’s offerings are often described as nurturing, she invites you to create awareness of the breath as a tool to support you in stillness and in movement and encourages participants to feel into what their body is calling for in that moment. Her offerings are suited to all abilities with a focus on spinal health and mental wellbeing. Her classes are suited to those of all abilities and are trauma informed and mental health aware offerings.

Amy grew up locally on the Bass Coast and still resides here today with her young family.
